Our family attends the Healthy Habits Event on 7/18

Last week, I had the pleasure of taking my children to the Kimberly-Clark and Colgate-Palmolive Healthy Habits Event, held at the Altman building last Wednesday, July 18th!  Because so many of the brands we use in our everyday include Kimberly-Clark and Colgate-Palmolive, I knew this was one event we could not miss!

Kimberly-Clark and Colgate-Palmolive have partnered with HealthyChildren.org and Dr. Alanna Levine (accredited New York based pediatrician and mom of two), to help moms set their kids up for success this back-to-school season. Together, they have developed healthy habits that moms can use at home to help teach her children:

• Shield them everywhere. Encourage children to wash their hands with warm soapy water for 20 seconds and dry for 20 seconds. Set a timer so your child learns how long 20 seconds really is!
• Let their confidence shine. Encourage a healthy body image by focusing on a nutritious diet and physical activity.
• Make a home for learning. If someone is sick at home, disinfect commonly touched surfaces to prevent the spread of germs.
• Start the training early. Twice daily routines of teeth brushing will set your child up for a lifetime of good dental hygiene.

These are really great tips. We go through so much handsoap, hand sanitizer, baby wipes and more every day, trying to keep the germs away. I am always encouraging my children that they can be whatever and whoever they want, and strive daily to teach them good habits that will last a lifetime. We have been practicing since the day they were born, and we will continue to keep this up every day!

Stay tuned for a giveaway from Kimberly Clark!

Dislaimer: Mommy’s Links was not compensated for this post.  Our family had the chance to attend the event and enjoy healthy snacks and take home some samples of the Kimberly-Clark/Colgate Palmolive lines of products.
